The Retention Sales Agent plays a vital role in maintaining strong client relationships and improving policy retention. In this role, you'll conduct reviews of newly written policies to ensure clients fully understand their coverage, proactively reach out to clients with upcoming renewals, and work to resolve issues that could lead to cancellations. Your ability to educate, build trust, and uncover cross-sell opportunities will help strengthen client loyalty and agency growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct welcome calls and policy reviews with new clients to confirm understanding and satisfaction
- Reach out to clients ahead of renewal dates to discuss rate changes, coverage options, and retention strategies
- Proactively contact clients who request cancellations or show signs of dissatisfaction, and work to retain their business
- Identify gaps in coverage and recommend additional policies or policy adjustments when appropriate
- Collaborate with service and sales teams to resolve client concerns quickly and thoroughly
- Document all client interactions in the agency management system and follow up on open items
- Meet monthly retention and policy review targets, and contribute to agency retention goals
Requirements:
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license (required)
- Life & Health license a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- 1 year of experience in insurance customer service or retention sales
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a client-first mindset
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations around pricing, coverage, and cancellations with professionalism
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively in a remote work environment
- Proficient in using CRM or agency management systems and communication tools
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office workspace
