Duties

• Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and menu plans, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following strict cleaning schedules and sanitation standards to promote food safety.
• Support menu planning efforts by suggesting new recipes or modifications based on customer preferences and dietary requirements.
• Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination or spoilage.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, timing, and presentation.
• Contribute to food safety management by following safety protocols during food production and storage, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment within a food industry or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and proficiency in food handling practices.
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques such as slicing and knife skills.
• Familiarity with catering services or large-scale food service operations is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and other team members.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety throughout all tasks.
