Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Nurse Aide / Direct Care Worker for the midnight shift at our Adult Foster Care (AFC) home in Michigan. The Midnight Shift Nurse Aide plays a vital role in ensuring resident safety, comfort, and supervision overnight while maintaining a calm, secure, and supportive environment. This position requires attentiveness, dependability, and the ability to respond appropriately to residents’ needs during overnight hours in compliance with Michigan AFC licensing requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overnight supervision to ensure resident safety and well-being
- Assist residents with nighttime ADLs including toileting, repositioning, and personal care as needed
- Conduct scheduled safety checks and rounds throughout the night
- Respond promptly to call lights, alarms, or resident requests
- Observe, document, and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition
- Maintain a quiet, safe, and secure environment during overnight hours
- Complete required overnight documentation, logs, and reports
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry as assigned
- Prepare residents for morning routines as needed
- Follow individualized care plans, facility policies, and Michigan AFC licensing regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Nurse Aide (CNA) certification preferred but not required (we will provide training)
- Experience in AFC, assisted living, or caregiving preferred, but not required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with Michigan AFC regulations
- Must be dependable, alert, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift, assist, and transfer residents as needed
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Shift: 3rd shift - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
****Monthly Bonus: An additional monthly bonus of $2.00 per hour is paid for hours worked, paid monthly.
Pay: From $13.75 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week
