Kansas City, MO. Rose Brooks Center, a nonprofit domestic violence agency, is currently seeking a full-time Prevention Specialist – School-Based Youth Worker.
This position will provide violence prevention services to middle and high school students in Jackson County, Missouri. Primary responsibilities of the position include facilitating student groups in schools located in the Jackson County area, focusing on building resiliency skills and emotional regulation. Additional responsibilities include working closely with school personnel, students, and Project SAFE staff, and developing program curriculum both individually and collaboratively with Project SAFE staff. Project SAFE Prevention Specialists are also accountable for maintaining timely and accurate program records regarding group sessions and client services.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:
This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday and requires a minimum of 40 hours/wk. This position works primarily in the schools, but also works on-site in an office environment. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
Compensation
This position falls into a range starting at $46,000 annually (exempt)

- Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined.
- Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Experience working with at-risk youth
- Experience facilitating discussion or educational groups
- Computer literacy
- Proven organizational skills
- Effective team member in collaboration and cooperation
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships
- Able to maintain accurate, timely documentation of services
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability auto insurance
- Experience with prevention programs and working with school administration
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Education or related field or commensurate
- Knowledge of domestic violence
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
