Role Description The Director of Fundraising and Donor Relations is a full-time, on-site role based in Aurora, IL. This position leads all fundraising initiatives, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and special events to support the school’s mission and strategic priorities. The director cultivates, stewards, and expands relationships with donors, alumnae, foundations, and corporate partners through regular communication, meetings, and personalized engagement plans. Daily responsibilities include developing and implementing fundraising strategies, managing donor databases and reporting, preparing proposals and gift acknowledgments, and collaborating with school leadership and staff on development goals. The role also oversees fundraising communications, supports marketing efforts related to advancement, and represents Rosary College Prep at school and community events to strengthen visibility and philanthropic support.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in fundraising strategy, major gift cultivation, and donor stewardship, ideally within education or nonprofit environments.

Experience with event planning, campaign management, and community outreach to support annual and special fundraising initiatives.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft donor appeals, proposals, reports, and stewardship materials.

Proficiency with donor relationship management or CRM systems, data analysis, and reporting to inform fundraising decisions.

Collaborative leadership abilities, including working effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, volunteers, and board members.

Organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Alignment with the Catholic mission and values of Rosary College Prep and respect for single-gender education in a faith-based setting.

Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, communications, business, nonprofit management, or a related field; advanced degree or CFRE certification is a plus.

Prior experience in school advancement, alumni relations, or comparable development role is strongly preferred.
