Recreation Therapist

The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy leisure, socialization, and skill development for youth in a human services setting.

• Develops and delivers diverse programs, including arts, sports, and community trips, aligned with treatment plans.
• Supervises recreation facilities and ensures safety through inspections and maintenance.
• Assists youth via role modeling and skill-building, documenting progress and participating in treatment team meetings.
• Supervises activities for up to three youth and supports special events.
• Completes reports, maintains safety standards, and performs basic repairs.
  
  

Required qualifications include a relevant bachelor’s degree, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and ethical conduct is essential.
