Litigation Paralegal
We are a small firm that specializes in insurance defense and are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service and care. We are looking for a paralegal who is passionate about their work, enjoys interacting with clients, and is willing to learn and grow with the firm.
Job Description:
- Manage litigation files
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Prepare discovery responses
- Billing experience
- Answer inbound phone calls
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Prepare and manage client discovery and communications
- Maintain client files and records
- Review documents for accuracy prior to filing
- Prepare settlement packets for attorneys
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Associate’s degree or higher in legal research or paralegal studies preferred.
- At least two years of experience as a paralegal.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be detail-oriented and able to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly. Must be organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, clients, legal staff, staff at other firms, etc. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write concisely, clearly, and professionally; ability to speak with attorneys, clients, other staff members on the team in a respectful and cooperative manner; ability to maintain confidentiality.
