Designed in 1889 by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler, the 3900-seat Auditorium has been called one of the most beautiful venues in the world, with its soaring ceiling, gilded elegance and graceful design. It is known for its remarkable horseshoe shape, its perfect acoustics and unimpaired sightlines.
Throughout its thirteen decades and counting, The Auditorium has been the Chicago iconic venue of choice for music superstars of every genre, world premier dance and ballet companies, operas, orchestras, iconic speakers and Broadway musicals!
As The Theatre For The People, the staff and Board of The Auditorium work every day to present the finest in international, cultural, community, and educational programming and to the continued restoration and preservation of the National Historic Landmark Auditorium.
The Auditorium Ticketing Manager oversees all aspects of ticketing operations, ensuring a seamless, guest-focused experience from ticket purchase to event/show entry. This role is responsible for event/show set-up/builds, scaling, daily management/oversight of ticketing platforms, inventory, reporting, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support The Auditorium’s continued diversification of programming and overall mission.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, relentlessly efficient, tech-savvy, able to work well with others and passionate about live events and community arts access. The Auditorium averages 125 performances and attracts 300,000 guests each year.
Some evening and weekend availability is required based on event/show schedule.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years of experience in ticketing, box office management, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in all ticketing systems and CRM tools.
- Ability to think creatively to achieve revenue goals
- Strong leadership and guest service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events and priorities with attention to detail is a MUST
- Commitment to equity, accessibility, and the mission of a nonprofit arts organization.
