Middle School Head Soccer Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director / School Principal
Classification: Supplemental / Coaching Stipend Position
Position Summary
The Middle School Head Soccer Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the middle school soccer program. The coach will promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character while ensuring a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate experience for all student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and conduct effective practices that emphasize fundamentals, teamwork, and player development.

Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.

Teach and model good sportsmanship, leadership, respect, and ethical behavior.

Ensure compliance with district policies, school rules, and league regulations.

Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games.

Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administrators.

Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, transportation, equipment, and facility use.

Maintain accurate records, including rosters, eligibility, and required forms.

Support the academic success and positive behavior of student-athletes.

Assist with inventory, care, and return of athletic equipment and uniforms.

Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development related to coaching and safety.
Qualifications

High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred.

Prior soccer coaching experience and/or playing experience preferred.

Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and skill development appropriate for middle school students.

Ability to work effectively with adolescents.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Completion of district-required coaching certifications and background checks.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, run, and demonstrate soccer skills during practices and games.

Ability to lift and move athletic equipment.

Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.
