What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time School Nurse position at Roosevelt Elementary School?
Full-Time School Nurse
Serve as the full-time RPS Elementary School Nurse, providing comprehensive nursing services and supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff in our Pre-K–5 school setting. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing first aid and emergency care to students and staff
- Assessing student illness and injury during the school day
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district procedures, and applicable law
- Supporting students with individual health needs and health plans
- Maintaining accurate and confidential health office records
- Communicating professionally with families, staff, administration, and medical personnel as needed
- Following district policies, health office procedures, and confidentiality expectations
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse License required
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain before serving, one of the following:
- NJDOE School Nurse Certificate
- NJDOE School Nurse/Non-Instructional Certificate
- Current CPR/AED certification preferred
- Successful completion of NJ Criminal History Review/fingerprinting and district onboarding requirements required
