Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills by interacting professionally and effectively with internal departments, staff, and e ternal partners. Work collaboratively with others to resolve issues and support organizational goals.
  • Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Assist with software installations and updates on user devices.
  • Help document technical issues and resolutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Support end users with password resets and basic account tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of IT storage and work areas.
  • Provide assistance to senior technicians as needed.
  • Deliver and set up equipment for users as directed.
  • Track help desk tickets and update records under supervision.
  • Responsible for operating audio-visual equipment at the County Commission Meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Responsible for configuration and support of county issued smart phones and knowledge of Android/Apple operating systems.
  • Help coordinate and maintain all County policies relating to the Information Technology systems including but not limited to County Cybersecurity Policy.
  • Assists in providing information and training to County employees on operations of IT equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance record, be punctual and meet established deadlines.
  • Employee must travel to various offsite County locations to perform IT duties.
  • Responsible for aiding in protection of network from unauthorized access, modification, and destruction.
  • Installation of software on workstations and servers; anti-malware/anti-virus solutions, network monitoring and maintenance; system and software analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software appropriate to the role. High school diploma or GED required, with at least 2 years’ experience in an IT support or help desk role.
  • Valid NM driver's license with an acceptable driving record or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. No prior DWI convictions within the last 48 months.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently. Ability to crouch, climb, kneel, and bend as needed to perform essential job duties. Ability to lift light to heavy items with or without assistance. Must be able to frequently move or reposition up to 50 pounds. Requires vision and hearing necessary for the performance of job duties. Must be able to access cramped locations to run cables, install, and service equipment. Work is primarily performed indoors with occasional outdoor work.

Pay: $42,934.00 - $59,185.00 per year
