Job Title: Custodian – Aquatics Center
Location: Roosevelt Aquatics Center: Roosevelt, UT Job Type: Seasonal- Part Time Salary: $10.25 Shift: Shifts range from Monday – Saturday, between the hours of 8 am – 10 pm
Job Summary:
Are you detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about maintaining a clean and safe environment? Join our team at Roosevelt Aquatics Center as a Custodian! As a key member of our facility, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of our aquatics center, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks throughout the aquatics center, including but not limited to locker rooms, restrooms, poolside areas, and administrative spaces
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize floors, walls, and surfaces to maintain a spotless environment
- Clean and disinfect pool decks, changing rooms, and high-touch areas (e.g., handrails, door handles, light switches)
- Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other necessary supplies in restrooms and public areas
- Empty trash cans and remove waste from the facility in accordance with proper disposal procedures
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns (e.g., leaks, broken equipment, etc.) to supervisors or maintenance staff
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of special events or pool activities.
- Ensure the facility is safe for staff, visitors, and swimmers by keeping walkways dry and free of hazards
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control standards to maintain a healthy and clean facility
- Safely and properly know how use and handle chemicals, supplies and materials pertaining to job duties (or willingness to learn)
- Operates and maintains basic pool maintenance equipment determined by management
- Perform any other custodial duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Comfortable working in an environment that may include exposure to cleaning chemicals and wet conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods of time
- Positive attitude and a willingness to assist in any tasks as needed
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
