Rodbuster - Safety Sensitive Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Rodbuster specializes in the installation of reinforcing steel for concrete. A rodbuster will place and tie rebar per the drawings before the concrete is poured.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety

• Promotes Cantera’s culture of “Safety First”
• Communicates with the Superintendent and Safety Personnel to ensure a safe workplace
• Proactively identifies and halts unsafe work practices, and promptly reports them to management to ensure a safe work environment

Operational

• Ability to follow Cantera Concrete Company Policies
• Read and interpret rebar field use drawings
• Knowledgeable in the use and safety of power tools
• Use necessary measuring tools to ensure accuracy
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience

• One (1) year of construction experience

Certifications

• OSHA 10 Certified preferred but not required

WORK CONDITIONS AND HOURS:

• Must be able to lift 70 lbs
• Regularly works on construction sites over rough terrain
• Some overtime hours may be required
• Consists of periodic weekend work
• Requires some travel
• Consists of exposure to the elements on a regular basis
• Frequent activity of standing, kneeling, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, and pulling
• Requires the ability to climb and work at heights above six (6) feet
