What are the responsibilities and job description for the localhost position at ROOMS?
Company Description ROOMS is building an operating system for compounding communities, both online and in person, by treating ongoing “rooms” rather than one-off events as the core asset. The platform unifies event workflows (tickets, RSVPs, check-in, promotion), community management (members, groups, messaging, content), and growth tools that keep rooms consistently full. ROOMS powers its own NYC series, The Pitch Room, where founders, investors, and growth partners connect in a curated environment focused on solving real customer acquisition challenges. The company is led by founder Amit Mohan, an operator and growth architect with extensive experience in building online communities and scaling brands through paid acquisition. People who are building event series, memberships, founder networks, or modern media brands—and want compounding results instead of starting from zero each month—tend to thrive at ROOMS.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site localhost role based in New York, NY. The localhost will own the on-the-ground experience for ROOMS events and gatherings, ensuring every room runs smoothly and delivers meaningful outcomes for participants. Day-to-day, this includes managing event setup and teardown, welcoming and checking in guests, coordinating with speakers and partners, and overseeing room flow so that introductions, conversations, and sessions stay on track. The person in this role will collaborate closely with the product and community teams to translate online member insights into in-person experiences, capture feedback, and surface opportunities to improve future rooms. The localhost will also support operational tasks such as vendor coordination, basic technical setup for AV or check-in tools, and real-time problem-solving during events.
