What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant Room Teacher position at Room to Grow Childcare?
Position Summary
To assist the classroom lead teacher in preparing material, working with children in the classroom. Work cooperatively with supervisor, consultants, and coworkers in teaching, program planning, and general operation of the center. Assure the care and protection of childcare children. Work on maintaining standard updates and changes.
Reports to: Program Director, Lead Teacher
Must have infant room experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents as needed.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational program and share best practices.
- Ensure classroom practices are consistent with Room to Grows Policies and procedures along with OEC childcare regulations
- Maintain daily classroom safety, organization, and cleanliness: includes washing, vacuuming floors, and other general light housekeeping tasks.
- Able to keep updated records of each individual child via our Brightwheel app including daily pictures, diaper changes, bottles, snacks and lunch entries.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to multi-task and able to handle a fast-paced environment
- First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.
- Must be able to work until 5:30 as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.35 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
