We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Estimator to join our Inside Sales team. This is a critical role responsible for reading, analyzing, and interpreting construction documents to produce accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for roofing projects. The ideal candidate has a strong customer service focus, is proficient with estimation software, and has the ability to self-learn industry-specific materials and standards.
- Perform accurate and timely material take-offs by reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and new/existing construction documents.
- Utilize Bluebeam Revu for digital quantity surveying and measurement.
- Leverage AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) proficiency to understand technical drawings and project layouts.
- Maintain and update estimation data, costs, and project tracking using Microsoft Excel and our CRM system.
- Collaborate with the Outside Sales team to finalize quotes and bids, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company profitability goals.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, addressing inquiries regarding material specifications, quantities, and lead times.
- Provide outstanding customer service by building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients.
- Proactively follow up on submitted quotes to secure orders and provide necessary documentation.
- Assist in processing sales orders and coordinating with the warehouse/logistics teams as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to self-learn and quickly absorb new material construction standards, product specifications, and industry codes (e.g., in the roofing and building materials sector).
- Stay current on product knowledge, manufacturer changes, and market trends within the Wisconsin roofing industry.
- Proven experience in an estimating, technical, or highly analytical role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with estimation and design software, including Bluebeam and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and pricing.
- Experience working with CRM software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and acute attention to detail are a must.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional customer interaction.
- High capacity for self-learning and embracing new technical concepts quickly.
- Hourly Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- We are open to training candidates who demonstrate the core technical aptitude and a strong desire to learn the roofing industry.
