Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our company’s fleet of work vehicles. This role is essential to keeping our operations running smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, hands-on experience with a variety of vehicles, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, and inspections
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life
- Maintain accurate service and repair records for all fleet vehicles
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Respond to breakdowns or service calls as needed
- Manage tools, equipment, and parts inventory effectively
- Collaborate with management to schedule maintenance and prioritize repairs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably working with fleet or commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and diagnostics
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
