Job Summary:
The Roofing Quality Control Inspector ensures that all residential and commercial roofing projects meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes. This role combines on-site inspection, crew support, and logistical coordination — including picking up and delivering materials as needed. The QC Inspector helps maintain high workmanship standards, efficient operations, and customer satisfaction throughout every stage of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections before, during, and after roofing installations (residential and commercial).
- Verify that materials and installation methods comply with manufacturer, code, and warranty requirements.
- Document inspection results through detailed reports, checklists, and job-site photos.
- Identify deficiencies, safety issues, or potential leaks and communicate corrective actions to crews or management.
- Ensure proper installation of flashing, ventilation, waterproofing, and underlayment systems.
- Coordinate with project managers and crews to keep projects on schedule without sacrificing quality.
- Pick up and deliver roofing materials, tools, and supplies from vendors or warehouses to job sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate material records and verify delivery accuracy.
- Conduct final walk-throughs with customers to ensure satisfaction and completion quality.
- Support training and mentoring of new crew members on quality standards and best practices.
- Report recurring issues or improvement opportunities to management.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of roofing, construction, or quality inspection experience (mixed residential and commercial preferred).
- Strong understanding of roofing systems including shingles, metal, TPO, EPDM, and coatings.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple job sites daily and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (company vehicle may be provided).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs of varying pitches and heights.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
