Roof Above is North Carolina’s most comprehensive homeless service provider. Our mission is to unite our community to end homelessness, one life at a time. We focus on individuals experiencing homelessness by offering everything from street outreach to shelter to rapid rehousing to permanent supportive housing. Our services and programs reach more than 1,400 individuals every day across nine campuses in Charlotte. Roof Above was created through the merger of Urban Ministry Center and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte in 2019.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Site Manager role at Easter’s Home is responsible for cultivating a safe, welcoming, and respectful community environment for tenants living in this 21-unit permanent supportive housing site. As the primary onsite staff presence, the Site Manager builds relationships with tenants, directly supervises the Tenant Liaison, coordinates enrichment programming, and serves as the point of contact for volunteer engagement and building operations.

 

This position plays a vital role in sustaining housing stability by partnering with the case management team to address behavioral or lease-related concerns and engaging tenants around rent payments, building maintenance issues, and interpersonal dynamics. The Site Manager must be highly relational, flexible, and comfortable working evenings and weekends to support a vibrant and accountable residential community.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide consistent, compassionate, and visible onsite presence for all 21 tenants
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents through regular engagement
  • Serve as the primary staff contact for emergent or time-sensitive needs at the site
  • Supervise the Tenant Liaison and support their role in tenant engagement and operations
  • Coordinate and deliver enrichment programming and community-building activities that align with the mission and goals of Easter’s Home
  • Collaborate with the case management team to address behavioral concerns and uphold community agreements that promote long-term tenancy
  • Engage residents directly around lease violations, rent arrears, and maintenance needs
  • Serve as a key liaison with Caldwell Presbyterian Church to coordinate communication, facility usage, and community collaboration
  • Support the planning and execution of volunteer-led activities and site events
  • Monitor overall building culture and safety; proactively address concerns that impact community dynamics
  • Maintain documentation and communication logs related to resident interactions, facility issues, and community programming
  • Flex schedule required; regularly expected to work evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, business, or related field (or equivalent experience); Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of three years' experience in housing or human services, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Housing First and trauma-informed care service delivery models
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including comfort managing schedules, tracking tenant issues, and facilitating communication
  • Experience working with individuals managing mental health and/or substance use needs is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution
  • Experience with HMIS or other client data systems a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license required

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Easter’s Home is a permanent supportive housing community located on the campus of Caldwell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood. The site includes 21 studio apartments for individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness. Built on a Housing First model, Easter’s Home offers residents stable housing, case management, and community connection in a supportive and sober environment. The program honors the legacy of its namesake while offering hope, dignity, and renewal to all who call it home.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Site Manager will be based onsite at Easter’s Home and is expected to maintain a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours. This role requires comfort working independently, responding to urgent concerns, and interacting with tenants navigating complex challenges. Physical movement within the site and occasional lifting may be required. The role also includes active coordination with church partners, volunteers, and community members.
