What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced carpenter position at Ronnie’s Construction & Home Improvement, LLC?
Experienced Carpenter — $35–$45/Hour
Ronnie’s Construction & Home Improvement is hiring an experienced, skilled carpenter to join our team in Middle Tennessee.
Pay: $35–$45 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill level.
Employment Type: Full-Time W-2 Employee Position
This is a hands-on carpenter position, not a supervisor, foreman, or superintendent position. We are looking for an experienced tradesman who wants to work in the field and be paid well for quality craftsmanship. You will work under company/project supervision and may work independently on assigned tasks, but you will not be responsible for managing employees, scheduling subcontractors, or supervising entire projects.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who already knows the trade, takes pride in their craftsmanship, can solve problems in the field, and can be trusted to complete assigned work correctly without constant supervision.
For the right employee who proves dependable and stays with the company long-term, there is also the potential for a company vehicle.
What You’ll Be Doing
Our work varies from project to project and may include:
● Residential framing and structural carpentry
● Home additions and whole-home remodels
● Interior and exterior trim
● Door and window installation
● Siding and exterior carpentry
● Decks, porches, and exterior repairs
● Cabinetry and custom built-ins
● Demolition and reconstruction
● Punch-list and finish carpentry
● Reading plans, taking measurements, and laying out work
● Working alongside other employees and subcontractors
We want a well-rounded carpenter, not someone limited to one specific type of work.
What We Expect
Applicants should:
● Have several years of professional carpentry/construction experience
● Be able to accurately read a tape, perform layout, and work from plans
● Understand residential framing and construction methods
● Be capable of completing common carpentry tasks with limited supervision
● Be able to identify problems and communicate them before they become costly mistakes
● Produce clean, professional-quality work
● Be dependable and show up on time
● Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
● Be able to safely lift and handle normal construction materials
● Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
● Respect customers, their homes, and their property
● Work well with other employees and subcontractors
● Be comfortable working at different project locations throughout Middle Tennessee
Tools & Consumables
Carpenters are expected to provide most of their own basic hand tools and everyday power tools normally expected of an experienced carpenter.
This generally includes a tool belt, tape measure, hammer, squares, levels, drills/impact drivers, and similar everyday carpentry tools.
Ronnie’s Construction & Home Improvement provides job-related consumables, including items such as:
● Nails and fasteners
● Screws
● Saw blades
● Drill and driver bits
● Cutting and grinding discs
● Adhesives and similar job-specific consumable supplies
Larger equipment, specialty tools, and project-specific tools can also be provided by the company as needed.
We do not expect employees to purchase job materials, consumables, or own an entire jobsite worth of equipment. We simply expect an experienced carpenter to arrive properly equipped with their normal everyday tools.
What We Offer
● $35–$45/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill
● W-2 employment
● Company-provided job consumables
● Company-provided larger and specialty tools as needed
● Hands-on carpenter position without the responsibility of managing an entire project or crew
● Consistent variety of residential construction and remodeling work
● Opportunity for long-term employment
● Potential company vehicle for established, dependable employees
● Opportunity for advancement for employees who want additional responsibility in the future
● Work with a locally established construction company serving Middle Tennessee since 1982
We’re looking for someone who wants to be paid like a professional because they work like a professional.
If you know the trade, take pride in your work, show up when you’re supposed to, and want a long-term W-2 position with an established construction company, we’d like to hear from you.
