Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning to keep outdoor areas pristine and inviting
- Operate ground maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and excavators safely and efficiently
- Support landscape construction projects by preparing sites, installing hardscape features, and performing soil preparation
- Identify plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and health; apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety protocols
- Maintain irrigation systems for optimal water distribution; troubleshoot issues and perform routine system checks
- Conduct grounds inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs; adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow plowing or winterizing landscapes to ensure year-round site safety and appearance
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related fields preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems essential for efficient operation
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, and pesticide management necessary for proper landscape care
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or tree care equipment is a plus; construction experience is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to landscaping operations; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting, digging, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid experience with grounds maintenance equipment operation including mowers, trimmers, hand tools, and hardscape installation tools
