Overview
Ronco’s Autobody is looking for a skilled Classic Car Restoration Technician to join our team as we expand into classic car restoration and custom builds.
This is not a production collision position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands older vehicles, and knows how to do the job the right way. The ideal candidate has experience with bodywork, rust repair, panel replacement, metal fabrication, disassembly, reassembly, and restoration-level attention to detail.
Duties
- Perform full and partial classic car restorations, primarily on 1960s–1990s vehicles
- Complete bodywork, rust repair, panel replacement, and metal fabrication
- Assist with prep and finish work for high-quality paint jobs
- Disassemble and reassemble classic vehicles properly and carefully
- Repair aging panels, structure, frame issues, and related restoration concerns
- Work with ownership on custom builds, restoration planning, and project details
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Document project progress as needed
- Take pride in quality, fitment, and finished results
Requirements
- 3 years of auto body repair, restoration, or related hands-on experience preferred
- Strong understanding of classic vehicle construction
- Metalwork and fabrication experience highly preferred
- Ability to diagnose and repair rust, damaged panels, and aging components
- Must be detail-oriented and quality-focused
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Must care about craftsmanship, not just speed
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Bonus Skills
- Custom fabrication or restomod experience
- Paint and finishing experience
- Mechanical knowledge, including engine, suspension, brakes, or drivetrain work
- Experience with classic platforms such as Mustang, Camaro, C10, Chevelle, Corvette, trucks, or similar vehicles
