The Ronald McDonald House Arkansas & North Louisiana location in Little Rock is seeking a compassionate, service-oriented, hospitality-focused Family Services Associate to join our team. This role provides a welcoming, supportive environment for families with hospitalized children and serves as a vital resource during some of life's most challenging moments.
The role will serve families at the Ronald McDonald House located on the Arkansas Children's Hospital campus and/or the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at UAMS. As a key member of our team, you will help ensure families feel cared for, supported, and at home while their child receives medical care.
Schedule
- Part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week
- MUST be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Weekend shifts: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Some evening shifts:
- 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (UAMS) or 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m
Position Summary
The Family Services Associate serves as the welcoming front-line representative for Ronald McDonald House programs at these locations. This position manages front desk operations, supports guest families, volunteers, and visitors, and helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and caring environment.
The ideal candidate is warm, adaptable, organized, and proactive. Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest & Family Support
- Welcome and assist guest families, visitors, donors, and community partners.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes.
- Provide ongoing support to families utilizing Ronald McDonald House programs and services.
- Ensure guests are comfortable and supported while using common areas and kitchen facilities.
Front Desk & Operations
- Answer and direct phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Serve as the primary front desk liaison during assigned shifts.
- Support and assist volunteers in carrying out their responsibilities.
- Oversee donation drop-offs and ensure proper handling procedures are followed.
Safety & Facility Oversight
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.
- Follow and enforce established security protocols and operational procedures.
- Support compliance with organizational policies that promote the safety and well-being of guests, volunteers, and staff.
Team Collaboration
- Document and communicate daily activities to ensure seamless shift transitions.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, including donation acceptance guidelines.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Experience in hospitality, customer service, nonprofit, healthcare support, or another public-facing role with increasing responsibility.
Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, and database systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Highly organized, dependable, collaborative, and positive team player.
- Bilingual skills are highly valued.
Education & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must complete all required UAMS program requirements.
