What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Stand up Forklift Driver - 2nd shift position at Ron's Staffing?
Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Position Summary:
Supports the Senior Mechanic with daily operational tasks, including troubleshooting machinery, performing light plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and maintaining forklifts. Additional responsibilities include moving furniture, watering batteries, and replacing light bulbs.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Assist with company-related events and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Previous warehouse experience and 1–3 years of general repair experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as drills, saws, hammers, and wrenches.
- Experience operating electric forklifts.
Physical Requirements:
The following physical capabilities are necessary to successfully perform essential job duties:
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Continuous reaching overhead and outward.
- Occasional climbing.
- Occasional pushing/pulling between 11–75 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling 35–50 lbs.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Occasional repetitive foot movements.
- Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements, including reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation.
- Required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Regular use of hands to handle or feel objects and reach with arms.
- Occasional use of gloves.
Language Skills:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and communicate effectively via email.
Mathematical Skills:
Must demonstrate basic math proficiency, including addition and subtraction of two‐digit numbers and multiplication/division involving tens and hundreds. Must be able to perform calculations involving U.S. currency, weights, volumes, and distances.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to follow written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a warehouse distribution center. Employees may be exposed to vibrations, dust, and moving machinery. Noise levels are generally moderate. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast‐paced, team‐oriented environment.
