Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Complete engine overhauls, brake work, transmission repairs, and other major component replacements
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Respond to service calls and perform field repairs as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Own tools required (company may provide specialty tools)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various environments & conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with company equipment including: CAT pavers, CAT motor graders, CAT skid steers, JD skip loaders, Bomag rollers, & miscellaneous small equipment and tools
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
