Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and detail oriented individual to help our funeral home service families in their time of need. We are a family-owned business that is proud to have long-standing ties to our community.
Responsibilities
- Greet familes warmly, verify appointments, and direct them appropriately within the facility
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries promptly, and route calls efficiently
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and mail distribution
- Maintain organized filing systems and data entry records
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings
- Assist with clerical tasks such as proofreading documents, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records
- Ensure phone etiquette standards are upheld during all interactions with clients and staff
- Create various accessories for funerals, including register books, prayer cards, etc., as well as edit/write obituaries for families. Ensure they are posted online and sent to run in newspapers before deadlines.
Experience
- Prior office or administrative experience is welcomed, preferably in a customer service or receptionist role
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace applications
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems and providing excellent customer support in person or over the phone
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse client needs effectively
- Familiarity with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading, and calendar management is essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage time effectively
- Handle communiating with individuals who are in highly emotional states
- Navigate stressful situations with poise
