We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC setup operator / Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, while contributing to innovative projects that demand precision and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- CNC Wire forming machine setup and programming, using our existing programs to change over machines to manufacturer various parts.
- CNC Swiss Machine (Lathe) operation and programming
- Set up CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices.
- Operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Conduct machine troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and adjustments to maintain high-quality standards and minimize downtime.
- 4 and 6 slide machine tooling, coining machines, punch presses, and spring forming machines.
- Tool and Die Making. Make and repair tooling on production machines in our fully equipped machine shop. Shop includes standard mills, a CNC mill, metal lathes, surface grinders, and an EDM machine.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC machine setup/ programming with a strong understanding of CNC controls.
- Tool & Die making and metal parts fabrication
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Experience with electrical systems and motors
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes involving CNC milling machines and CNC lathes for precision fabrication.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and basic troubleshooting skills.
