Position Summary

Rome Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse responsible for providing quality nursing care to pediatric and women's health patients in an outpatient clinical setting. The LPN supports providers with examinations and procedures, administers medications and immunizations, obtains and documents patient information, and provides patient and family education while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following essential job functions:

• Perform patient assessments and document patient information
• Provide age-appropriate patient education regarding care
• Provide telephone and in-person support and assist with patient questions, messages, and care coordination within the scope of practice.
• Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Follow infection-control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.

Minimum Qualifications

• New York State license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

Combination of walking and standing. Heavy lifting, 45 pounds or over and positioning of patients is required. Light carrying under 15 pounds. Pushing, pulling, kneeling and bending required. Frequent reaching, some above shoulders, handling and fingering of instruments and equipment. Talking and hearing for communicating with other personnel and patients. Hearing to distinguish differences and variations of vital signs of patients. Near-visual acuity required to work with a charts and records and to observe patients to detect changes in patient conditions, to read gauges and dials on equipment. Color vision for perceiving changes in patient's skin color, color of medicines and solutions.
