Job Purpose
ROMCO is currently seeking a talented and driven Lead Parts Counter Salesperson to join the team supporting the North Texas Region from the Dallas (Carrollton) branch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ordering and processing customer and/or vendor parts request through over the counter and telephone sales
- Maintaining and managing inventory
- Accurate and timely data entry for parts, sales orders purchasing, receiving, customer debit/credit, physical count maintenance, and warehousing process
- Purchasing and expediting parts and materials
- Maintain parts processing and filing of invoices and other documents that pertain to daily job functions
- Receive, unload, and put up parts shipments
- Gathering and shipping of parts for special parts returns and in support of warranty claims
- Assist in returning cores back to factories as required
- Reconcile invoices and purchases
- Assist with physical counts of the inventory
- Provide all necessary reporting for inventory adjustments between physical and computer records
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements
- Clerical - touch typing, filing, data entry, basic spreadsheet, e-mail, fax
- Organizational – organize and prioritize tasks, work on a schedule with deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven interpersonal and customer service skills
- Attention to detail, follow-up, and exhibit initiative
- Relationship Building - ability to work well with others in different job positions, customers and vendors
- Mechanical Aptitude - broad knowledge of construction machinery
Education and Experience:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years previous Counter Sales Experience
- General knowledge of heavy equipment or construction machinery
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be alert and is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions and Additional Requirements:
This job operates in an office environment. Office hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional needs outside standard business hours to accommodate meetings, training and projects. Some travel may be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
