ROMCO is currently seeking a Retail Finance Manager to join the team.
Job Purpose
The Retail Finance Manager is a dedicated financial specialist responsible for providing competitive finance and lease options to meet customers’ business needs. Serves as an intermediary between the sales department, manufacturers, and finance companies to present best options for selling and financing construction equipment. Once order is acquired, responsible for credit approval, document preparation, and funding of transaction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with sales representatives to create and provide retail-financing quotations.
- Establishes quality customer relations through explaining initial transaction quotations to customers, collecting customer credit information, answering technical questions, evaluating, and attempting to meet competitive offerings, and obtaining final customer acceptance of transactions.
- Ensure customer signatures on documentation, collect initial payment, and secures necessary insurance information for contract completion.
- Collection of outstanding invoices on equipment and communicating collection issues with sales department.
- Collect market intelligence and competitions’ offerings and propose proactive direction / program to lead the market.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with finance companies.
- Develop training tools for finance team to broaden finance knowledge & conduct training on processes and procedures.
- Gather credit information on customers, prepare credit packages, and submit to local funding source(s).
- Understand and identify customer needs through a consultative & proactive sales approach.
- Preparation and delivery of timely reporting to management.
- Provides professional representation, which includes training for dealer management and support personnel concerning merchandising, and financing programs.
- · Advises dealer personnel on tax law changes and finance concepts, including discounted cash flow, time value concepts, interest computation, and financial accounting (expense allocation, depreciation write-offs, balance sheet financing, etc.).
- Continuously evaluates growth areas and potential new markets for possible financing opportunities.
- Assists in developing a positive working relationship with sales department, finance companies and manufacturers.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete credit files and contract copies.
- Provide inputs for developing sound, acceptable credit policies, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the sales & collection team and provide support on delinquent accounts and closing deals.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
- Strong financial acumen with working knowledge of accounting principles, key financial tools and terminology.

Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Finance or Business, or equivalent related professional experience required.
- 5 years related experience in retail finance, sales collections/account management - construction equipment experience preferred.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements
This job operates in an office environment. Office hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional needs outside standard business hours to accommodate meetings, training and projects. Some travel may be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
