Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician II - Part-Time
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Department/Location: Immaculate Conception - Douglas
Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor or parish office manager is responsible for working independently in a leadership role and performing a variety of complex maintenance duties in a parish or school. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in support the Church’s spiritual and pastoral mission
- Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
- Work independently in a leadership role in the performance of general facility and grounds maintenance including cleaning and maintenance of Church and other grounds facilities
- Provide training and on-going supervision of maintenance and custodial personnel as assigned.
- Maintain parish equipment including cafeteria, kitchen, restrooms, and other facilities in a functional condition; recommend and oversee replacement of equipment as necessary
- Maintain a supply of and account for cleaning supplies and equipment; maintain an adequate inventory at all times
- Comply with chemical handling laws and occupational safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain security of buildings, equipment, tools, and other assets of the parish
- Make recommendations for continuous improvements in all areas assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal maintenance environment.
