The responsibilities of the Daytime Custodian are to perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment. Custodians may also perform related work as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Perform routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of designated facilities-Vacuums, shampoos, and spot cleans carpets and furniture; assists with, and performs window washing and refinishing of tile/hardwood floors-Paints walls, ceilings, floors and trim as needed-Removes trash and recycling in accordance with established procedures-Cleans and disinfects restrooms, staff rooms, cafeterias and other facilities; stocks facilities with paper and supplies-Submits written requests for supplies-Reports and responds to emergency calls for custodial assistance-Responds to service requests, implements the set up and take down of furniture and equipment for a wide variety of school and community events -Performs various maintenance and custodial duties, such as installation and repairs to fixtures in offices restrooms and classrooms-Troubleshoots and repairs minor plumbing and electrical problems; replace a variety of lightbulbs and lighting accessories-Identifies stains and uses proper chemicals for removal-Operates power equipment such as bobcat, plow truck, snowblower, lawn mower, scissor lift, carpet extractors, pressure washer, hand and power tools, and campus vehicles -Performs preventative maintenance in and around facilities in accordance with AHERA regulations-Offers a physical presence in the cafeteria during the three lunch waves, to empty trash, clean spills, sweeps -floors between lunches. -Assists with afternoon dismissal pick up ensuring proper parking protocols are followed. -Performs other duties as required
