Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Information Technology Specialist to join our team and provide comprehensive IT support to church personnel and Catholic schools in the local Roanoke area. In this role, you will be responsible for desktop support, network maintenance, and working with technologies such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. If you have a passion for working with church personnel and supporting educational institutions, enjoy troubleshooting IT issues, and are comfortable with travel, this position is perfect for you. A vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.

Responsibilities:

- Provide on-site and remote desktop support to church and school staff, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues.

- Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues, configuring routers and switches, and monitoring network performance.

- Collaborate with the staff to understand their technology needs and provide guidance on using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams effectively.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

- Collaborate with the Diocesan IT team to ensure that best practices are being implemented.

- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, manage software licenses, and coordinate hardware and software procurement as needed.

- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and provide recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and user experience within the church and school community.

- Travel to different parishes and Catholic schools along the I-81 corridor to provide IT support.
