What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafeteria/Food Service Mgr position at ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF RICHMOND?
Saint Mary Star of the Sea School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a variety of skill sets to oversee and manage the school’s cafeteria. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, capable of working collaboratively with colleagues and school families, and demonstrate a commitment to advance the mission of the school.
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and serving in large quantities. Proven knowledge of food quality standards, inventory management for bulk supplies, and kitchen sanitation protocols. Additionally, expertise in safety measures for food handling, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean work environment is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Plan menus, order food supplies, and work with outside vendors.
- Responsible for the daily set up, safe operation, and breakdown of all kitchen and mechanical equipment, including ovens, mixers, and warmers.
- Oversee and participate in meal preparation, cooking and service of all menu items, including main courses, salads, soups, and desserts.
- Maintain sanitary conditions including washing pots, pans, kettles, and other cooking utensils.
- Keep records of student lunch orders and serve/distribute items accordingly
- Maintain effective communication with school administration, faculty, and parents regarding cafeteria operations, daily schedules, and menu updates.
- Possesses a Food Manager License to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment and ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- Perform other related duties as required/assigned
