Saint John the Apostle Catholic School seeks an innovative, experienced, and collaborative Admissions Coordinator. Candidates should possess a desire to work in a Christ-centered school and committed to the mission of Catholic schools. The primary role for the Admissions Coordinator is to proactively work with school, faculty and staff, and community at large to manage all aspects of the admissions/enrollment process. As the first contact for prospective students/families, a successful candidate must enthusiastically recruit and welcome new families to the school community. Duties include working with prospective students/families by reviewing applications, providing tours, setting up Open Houses, and evaluating applicants' academic records.
Additionally, under the supervision of the principal, provide administrative assistance in support of school operations, conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees; registers new students, verifying admissions/enrollment forms are completed, obtaining transcripts and other documentation as needed, and entering data into computer system regarding enrollment and student records (e.g., student enrollment data, class scheduling, program, attendance, withdrawals); processes withdrawing students; maintaining and/or forwarding records.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as admissions proactively manages all aspects of the admissions/ enrollment process.
- Maintains admissions/enrollment files and records; supporting daily attendance, student teacher reports, enrollment/admissions.
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
- Prepares, copies, and distributes notices, memoranda, or other correspondence for the purpose of informing school community regarding activities, events or other admission promotion related matters.
- Assists in planning and scheduling school events and activities, and maintaining calendar of school and student events for the purpose of coordinating and scheduling events such as orientation, open house, assemblies, etc.
- Composes and types letters, memos, reports, bulletins, requisitions, invoices, student files and records; in conformance with school policies.
- Assist visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others
- Evaluates situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
