REPORTS TO: Manager
SCHEDULE: Full-time (salary) including nights and weekends
PAY RANGE: $71,000 - $75,000 annually

Summary:
The Assistant Manager supports the success of The Shroud of Turin: An Immersive Experience by ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and that all guest-facing staff are equipped to serve with excellence. This role combines supervision, organization, and hospitality - overseeing staff scheduling, training delivery, and frontline direction. The Assistant Manager also helps manage Eventbrite operations to ensure a seamless arrival experience for guests. With a strong focus on team coordination and guest satisfaction, this role plays a key part in fostering an environment that is prayerful, educational, and welcoming for all who visit.
Responsibilities:
- Staff Training & Development: Deliver training, coaching, performance evaluation, and ongoing support to Hosts and Docents, ensuring they feel confident and prepared in their roles.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Create and maintain staff schedules that balance coverage needs with employee availability.
- Supervision & Leadership: Support the frontline team during operating hours, helping guide staff performance and resolve issues as they arise.
- Guest Experience Oversight: Ensure a welcoming and reverent atmosphere by monitoring guest flow and assisting staff in maintaining positive interactions.
- Eventbrite Management: Maintain Eventbrite event pages, ticketing settings, guest check-in tools, and troubleshoot ticketing concerns.
- Communication & Alignment: Serve as a point of contact between staff and the management team, sharing feedback and ensuring clarity around expectations and updates.
- Operations Support: Assist with implementing opening and closing procedures, ensuring the museum space is consistently prepared for guests.
- Problem Solving: Respond to unexpected situations with calm leadership, adapting operations as needed to support a smooth experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Track staffing, attendance, and operational notes to support continuous improvement.
- Mission-Driven Representation: Support the mission of the Shroud of Turin: An Immersive Experience and ensure consistency among staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to lead and support a diverse team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, stay organized, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with technology systems such as Eventbrite, Microsoft Office, and iOS devices, with a willingness to learn additional tools.
- Demonstrated dependability, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Comfort speaking to groups, directing staff, and resolving guest concerns when needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the museum space for extended periods.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church and the spiritual nature of the Shroud Experience.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated successful experience in staff leadership, supervision, scheduling, or operations (museum, hospitality, ministry, education, or customer-service settings).
- Proficiency with event management or ticketing systems (Eventbrite experience especially valued).
- Practicing Roman Catholic

- To perform duties of the job, the employee may on a regular basis be required to stand, sit, talk, hear/listen, reach, stoop, kneel and operate a computer, keyboard and other museum equipment.
