What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher- Room to Grow Preschool position at Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport?
Room To Grow (RTG) preschool, a program of Catholic Charities located in Norwalk, CT is seeking a full-time (full year), benefits-eligible Assistant Teacher to begin immediate employment. RTG is a state-licensed and nationally-accredited facility that provides high-quality care and education for children aged three-to-five years old who reside in Norwalk. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster early childhood development and ensure a positive classroom experience for every child.
Degree in early childhood education, child development or human development, or a two (2) or four (4) year degree in a related field with at least twelve (12) credits in child development or early childhood education required.
Responsibilities
Planning, implementing and evaluating child development experiences for the enrolled children and supporting and advocating for families.
Operating a safe, diverse and developmentally appropriate classroom in accordance with all state and local regulations and policies.
Experience Required
Experience in developmentally-appropriate practices and working knowledge of CT ELDS (Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards), NAEYC, and DPH/ OEC licensing and a desire to continue their education.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience at a licensed child day care center/preschool that meets standards comparable to those in Connecticut and/or experience in group care for children three-to-five years old.
RTG offers qualified teachers a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. The work week is Monday through Friday, 8 hours/day (40 per week), full year.
