Service Drive Porter

PURPOSE OF JOB: 

This individual contributor position is responsible for ensuring strong customer service by safely operating motor vehicles, including driving customers to their destinations.  Also responsible for operating motor vehicles on the lot, checking in new vehicles, assigning stock numbers, ensuring proper keys and tags, and washing and waxing vehicles. 

JOB DUTIES: 

Service Drive Operational Duties: 

• Operate motor vehicles safely and efficiently to transport service/repair customers to off-site locations, such as their homes or places of employment. 

• Aides Assistant Service Manager in designated service drive(s). 

• Put key tags on vehicle keys and mirrors. 

• Install floor mats in vehicles. 

• Maintains a clean service drive (picking up trash, cleaning floors, sweeping,). 

• Meet and greet customers in designated service drive(s).  

• Wash serviced vehicles and move to the designated service parking area. 

• Assist the detail team members with detailing cars, filling up gas tanks when needed, wash and wax, and anything else assigned regarding preparation for sale. 

• Removal of key tags, floor mat, seat cover and performance quality inspection no greasy/oily fingerprints on interior or exterior of vehicle after completion. 

• Bring customers vehicles inside service drive for customer redelivery. 

General 

• Ensure prompt and regular attendance. 

• Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management. 

• Travel as business needs may require.

• Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement.

• Attend at least ten (10) credit hours of training each calendar year to continue development of work-related skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: 

• High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required. 

Experience: 

• Prior automotive industry experience is preferred. 

• Experience safely operating motor vehicles is preferred. 

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies: 

• Demonstrate strong customer service skills. 

• Demonstrate safe driving practices in accordance with legal and departmental requirements. 

• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. 

• Ability to estimate time of service or repair jobs for purposes of efficient scheduling. 

• Time management skills to meet customer needs and prioritize accordingly. 

• Strong communications skills with customers, coworkers, management, vendors, and others in the course of our business. 

• Maintain confidentiality of business information. 

• Must possess and continuously maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
