Position Summary
The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will partner with operations to promote a safe working environment across warehouse, yard, and delivery functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventative actions
- Deliver safety training programs (forklift safety, hazard communication, PPE, etc.)
- Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Support environmental initiatives including waste management and spill prevention
- Partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Monitor workers’ compensation claims and assist with return-to-work programs
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or building materials
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Experience in warehouse, yard operations, or fleet safety is a plus
- Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite
Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
Work Environment
- Combination of office, warehouse, and outdoor yard environments
- Regular exposure to building materials, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and walk/stand for extended periods
