RCM Analyst

Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of business intelligence strategies and solutions that optimize revenue cycle operations. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, revenue cycle management, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. The analyst will report to the Vice President Revenue Cycle Management and work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance financial performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development and execution of business intelligence strategies to support revenue cycle management.
• Participates in design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and analytics tools that provide insights into revenue cycle performance.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that drive financial and operational improvements.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
• Support the Development of predictive models and advanced analytics to forecast revenue and identify potential risks.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenue cycle data through robust data governance practices.
• Provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis and insights.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of data systems and tools.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business intelligence and revenue cycle management.
• Support the development and implementation of revenue cycle improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting standards related to data security and privacy.
• Participate in the development of quality improvement activities designed to enhance revenue cycle processes and outcomes.

Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of third-party and insurance companies’ operating procedures, regulations and billing requirements; i.e. Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
• Ability to read and understand the information provided on EOB’s, remittance advice, and other insurance correspondence.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 beneficial.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Insurance eligibility and benefit verification experience required with knowledge of cardiac rehab billing and orthopedic durable medical equipment billing desired.
• Experience with development Revenue Cycle dashboards/scorecards
• Knowledge with CMS 1500 and UB04 Billing Forms, EOBs, claims, coding and charges is required.

Work Experience:

• 5 years health care or related physician practice business operations.
• Knowledge of health care revenue cycle management required
• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Preferred
• Proven experience in business intelligence, data analytics, and revenue cycle management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and pleasantly with all customers.
• Strong team player.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with practitioners and providers, including sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to problem solve and explore all options and to use available resources to find new and effective solutions.
