What You Will Be Doing
- Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists, and verify parts clearances
- Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies
- Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations
- Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Maintain and lubricate parts and components
- Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes
- Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications
- Keep Team Leader abreast of progress, developments and pending problems
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Identify and reduce non-value-added work
- Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas

Position Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and 2 years in a mechanical, engine or automotive trade school or equivalent associate's degree; or 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment.

- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of engine control systems, design, assembly and function
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
