Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments using dental office management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy using medical billing systems such as Epic or Meditech
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring all documentation review and data entry adhere to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist with medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare documentation to support accurate billing and care plans
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear communication and appointment confirmations
- Manage medical records, ensure proper documentation review, and support health information management practices in compliance with healthcare standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist with clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
- Familiarity with health insurance processes including Medicaid, Medicare, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key typing for efficient data entry
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior experience in medical office management or medical administrative support is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and medical records management
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy dental clinic environment while maintaining a positive attitude
