Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and proper functioning before each route.
- Deliver goods to customers efficiently while maintaining professional customer interactions.
- Adhere to scheduled routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries across multiple locations.
- Assist with warehouse operations by moving inventory, organizing stock, and supporting manual handling tasks as needed.
- Use mobile devices to document deliveries, update logs, and communicate with dispatch teams effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for non-CDL commercial driving with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating box trucks or vans with manual transmission preferred.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, weight handling in the workplace, and proper use of material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Ability to adhere strictly to DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all driving activities.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries.
- Comfortable working with mobile devices for route navigation and documentation purposes.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
- Warehouse experience is a plus, including familiarity with warehouse operations and manual handling procedures.
