Job Title: Automotive Technician
Job Type: Full Time with Possible Overtime
Starting Pay: $20-$26/Hour based on experience, qualifications, and certifications.

Job Location: Athens, PA
Shop Hours: 8am-5:30pm M-F with unpaid lunch time, and flexibility on hours worked, with a typical work week of 40-45 hours.

Rolling Tire Shop LLC is a family-owned business one location in Athens, PA. We are a full-service tire and auto maintenance and repair business. We have a well-established customer base that generates regular returning business. We are one of the largest tire retailers in the area. Our current technicians can service virtually any type of vehicle on the road except for large truck diesel engines. All vehicles that come in for service receive a thorough inspection with the focus on preventive maintenance to help prevent unwanted downtime caused by surprise vehicle issues.
Overall Job Description:
Rolling Tire Shop is looking for an Automotive Service Technician. You will be responsible to professionally perform most aspects of general vehicle maintenance and repair, including but not limited to: Lube/Oil/Filter, tire rotation, tire mounting and balancing, PA state inspections, install batteries, brake work, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, power-train management systems, perform road tests for diagnosis, and provide service recommendations and the like.
Qualifications and Prerequisites:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with High School Diploma or GED
- Must have valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
- Must have two years of automotive repair and maintenance experience working in a professional business environment.
- ASE certification is a plus but not required to apply
- Prefer applicants have their own tools, yet this is also not required to apply
- Good working knowledge of overall construction of automotive vehicles, engines, and components
- Proficient in the use of various hand tools and power tools used in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Able to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Good communications skills
- Able to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Be able to work as part of the team as well as independently
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and effectively complete vehicle repair order scope of work
- Road test vehicles after repairs and maintenance are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about customer vehicles
- Document all work performed on the repair order
- Report any safety issues immediately to management
- Promote teamwork to deliver exceptional customer care
- Maintain strict adherence to Company policies on vehicle care and operation
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
