We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent clinical skills, capable of coordinating daily unit operations and supporting both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities and workflow on the unit
- Provide direct patient care and oversee care provided by nursing staff
- Make patient assignments based on acuity levels and staff competencies
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes or emergencies
- Conduct rounds to assess patient needs and staff performance
- Address patient and family concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit meetings
- Manage unit supplies and equipment inventory
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty certification in relevant area (e.g., Med-Surg, ICU, ER)
- Experience with staff education and training
