Office Hours:   Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 

Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking a full-time Assessment Specialist to work in our Wichita Falls, Texas Community Services office. This opportunity offers a rewarding way to earn income while making a difference.

Position Summary:

Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking applicants for the position of Assessment Specialist at the Community Services office in Wichita Falls, Texas. This is a full-time hourly position within the Community Services Assistance Division. This position entails mainly tasks that are technical and diverse in nature and require the capacity of judgment, action, and ability to work with others to accomplish program goals and integration of program activities.

The Assessment Specialist provides information of RPMC programs/activities and all community resources. The Assessment Specialist should be able to discuss programs and to involve the residents of the neighborhood in seeking solutions for family and community needs. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide client access to CSBG, CEAP, LIHWAP, and Weatherization Programs.
  • Conduct client eligibility and maintain appropriate documents.
  • Advise clients of their responsibilities of the CSBG, CEAP, LIHWAP, and Weatherization programs
  • Provide information to local citizens concerning all RPMC programs/activities/opportunities.
  • Enter data into the automated system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicates all appropriate information to client on programs, requirements, and processes in a timely manner. Appropriately documents contacts with clients.
  • Coordinates with utility vendors on behalf of clients.
  • Maintains information on all community resources/activities/opportunities
  • Maintain knowledge of current eligibility guidelines, funding guidelines, and departmental policies; apply guidelines and policies to individual cases.
  • Receive client billing histories – consumption and usage
  • Prepare timely and accurate vouchers for payment
  • Responsible for program compliance. Ensure rules and regulations are followed. Ensure compliance with program goals, and policies and procedures.
  • Assures accurate and appropriate client records/documents are developed and maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring a productive work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assure confidentiality of clients, potential clients, and co-workers.
  • Work cooperatively and jointly with clients, staff, agency divisions and vendors.
  • Develop and/or maintain filing systems, assuring that all files are maintained according to policy.
  • Responsible for expenditures within the established and approved budget.
  • Must be focused on excellence and continuous improvement
  • Show up to work on time, ready to work scheduled hours.
  • Explain wait list procedures and place individual on the wait list Update wait list regularly.
  • Notify supervisor of any real or perceived problems.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with major work in case management or degree in closely related field; OR a non-related bachelor degree or associate degree with one year case management/customer service work/social service work; OR a high school diploma/GED with two years case management/customer service/social service work experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management, both orally and in writing using correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to balance a variety of duties, prioritize, and meet deadlines required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, other team members, and management.
  • Possess demonstrated ability of personal computer operations within a Windows Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instruction and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Available for a light amount of night and weekend work.
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse population and low-income individuals required.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background or other checks as required.
  • Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the "Drug Free": Agency Policy
  • Must possess ability to provide reliable self-transportation capable of regional travel. Must possess and maintain valid Texas motor vehicle operator's permit of appropriate classification and endorsement as required. Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR and minimum requirement of insurability as required by law. MVR background checks may be conducted by the agency.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include sitting, standing, walking, or riding in vehicle for extended periods of time, or other duties assigned.
  • Employee regularly required to bend and squat in the process of locating and maintaining client files.
  • The physical requirements in an office environment may require lifting boxes of supplies or files, equipment, and occasional adjustment of office furniture.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

  • Possess ability to adapt to inclement weather conditions and/or situations.
  • Ability to drive, occasionally long distances within the region.
  • Noise level could be moderate to loud in work environment
  • Ability to work in stressful environment and deal effectively with stress.
  • Ability to perform duties and adapt to flexible work schedules as established by management

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Normal travel - ability to travel to job related activities such as client services provision, meetings, training, and workshops, both in and out of the service area.

  • Must be able to travel by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities.
