What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Preschool Instructor position at ROLLING MEADOWS PARK DISTRICT?
SUMMARY:The Preschool Teacher is a part time seasonal position working directly under the supervision of the Early Childhood Coordinator. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for a variety of duties including: having a thorough understanding of the guidelines concerning the operation of the Preschool program, supervision of, and leadership of their classroom. This is an at-will position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the teaching of a group of 10-20 children, in all school activities and events.
- Required to participate in all planned activities on a daily basis, as well as special activities.
- Responsible for the daily physical set up of Preschool area. Maintenance of materials and their storage area.
- Cooperate with co-workers and administrative staff.
- Complete all necessary forms as needed. (Lesson Plans and Accident reports).
- Ensure the safety of students at all times and follow up on all accident and situation reports.
- Adhere to general rules and policies of the Rolling Meadows Park District.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain cleanliness of school site.
- Maintain cleanliness of park site.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Program Coordinator.
- It is the responsibility of all Park District employees to pick up litter throughout the building, grounds, and facilities of the District.
- Staff is expected to help with the successful implementation of programs, parks, and services across program areas and between departments
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 18 years of age. Bachelor of Science degree in Education or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education is desired but not a requirement. Must have successful progressive experience in working with children.
