What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide position at Rolling Hills Developmental Center?
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for general laundry duties, distribution of clean linen, and maintaining a clean work area.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Collects soiled linens, sorts linen removing stained or damaged pieces.
2. Washes and dries linens. .
3. Promptly removes linens from dryers and sorts.
4. Hangs all clothes that needs to be hung.
5. Fold resident’s clothes including underwear, socks, tee-shirts, gowns/PJs and puts in designated storage bins/containers, etc...
6. Irons clothing items if needed.
7. Folds, counts and stacks/stores linens, etc., according to policy.
8. Keeps shelves organized and free of debris.
9. Fills emergency requisitions for extra linens.
10. Assesses linen needs and informs supervisor of linens taken out of service.
11. Washes, dries and distributes resident’s personal clothing as directed by supervisor.
12. Will store in designated container all resident’s clothing and linens that are in need of repairs.
13. Keeps equipment and work areas clean as needed and as scheduled.
14. Follows infection control policies and procedures.
15. Ensures resident’s rights
16. Attends inservice training and other related duties as required.
17. Participates in Performance Improvement process and Project Teams as needed.
18. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Laundry Aide receives supervision from the Laundry Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Laundry Aide has no supervision responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Must have completed tenth [10th] grade. High School Diploma/Vocational Diploma, GED is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
No experience required. On-the-job training is provided.
