Part Time Gate Attendant
Our private, gated community on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is hiring for a versatile part-time Gate Attendant & Roving Patrol. This position includes 4-hour and 8-hour shifts. Primary shifts are 2pm-10pm on weekends. Holidays too.
Must be able to cover call-outs on short notice.
What We Do at the Gates: The role of the Gate Attendant is to ensure that each guest or vendor that comes to the gate is authorized to enter the community; and then log each entry using our software system. This position requires excellent face-to-face & telephone customer service skills as it is highly interactive.
What We Do on Patrol: The patrol shift uses our company vehicle to drive through the city identifying security or safety issues. They respond to reported incidents, report information to the supervisor, and set-up traffic control if needed.
Successful candidates are Customer Service driven, have an instinct for Security, are task-oriented, and detailed.
$20.00 per hour.
Work Hours
We are open 24/7/365, including holidays. This position doesn't require working the graveyard shift except in emergencies.
There are 4 hour and 8 hour shifts available.
Qualified applicants will have:
- One year of security-related experience or a strong customer service
- Excellent customer service skills, in person and on the phone
- Own a reliable vehicle (no motorcycles) & have a valid driver's license
- Must be proficient using a computer
- Be "security-minded" by being aware of your surroundings
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- A professional appearance must be maintained, (we provide uniforms)
- If hired, you must submit to an background check & DMV check
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Checking and logging-in guests and vendors.
- Continuous professional interaction with residents and their guests
- Monitoring CCTV security cameras.
- Communicating with other Gate Attendants and Management.
- Patrolling the community.
