Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented E-Commerce Product Photographer to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images and videos of our products to showcase their features and appeal across various online platforms. Your expertise in photography, videography, and post-production will be essential in creating compelling visual content that drives customer engagement and boosts sales. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to blend technical skill with artistic vision in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
This is a production role, not a campaign role. Success looks like a consistent, high-volume stream of clean product images that meet spec every time, plus short product videos for our top sellers. If you like building a repeatable system and hitting it reliably, you'll do well here. If you're looking primarily for creative-direction work, this isn't the fit.
What you'll do
- Shoot product photos to a fixed, repeatable standard. consistent background, lighting, angle set, and crop across the entire catalog
- Maintain the studio setup: lighting, tethered capture, color targets, and calibration so images from January match images from July
- Handle the hard surfaces our category throws at you: cigar band and label text that has to stay legible, cellophane and mylar glare, chrome and glass on vape devices
- Edit and retouch to spec. dimensions, background, crop margins, file naming — and deliver into our website's image pipeline
- Flag products that photograph poorly or arrive damaged before they hit the site
- Work with our web and marketing teams on shot lists and priorities
What we're looking for
- Portfolio showing product/catalog work. volume and consistency matter more here than range
- Strong with studio lighting: you can light a glossy box and a matte label on the same table without redoing the setup
- Fluent in Lightroom and Photoshop; comfortable with tethered capture
- Video editing in Premiere. competent, not cinematic
- Solid color management: you understand why calibration matters at catalog scale and you actually do it
- Organized and self-directed. You'll own the shooting queue and the file system behind it.
Nice to have: experience in an e-commerce or retail catalog environment; familiarity with content restrictions that apply to age-restricted products.
